Your comprehensive walkthrough to downloading, authenticating, and printing your official digitally signed, QR-verified caste certificate from the Government of Assam portal.

When Is Your Certificate Ready to Download?

Once the Circle Officer digitally signs your application, two things happen immediately:

1. Automated SMS Alert:

You receive an official SMS from the Government of Assam (Sender ID: ARTPS-ASSAM) stating that your caste certificate has been approved and delivered.

2. Instant Public Availability:

Your certificate is automatically released to both the public tracking portal and your citizen dashboard in cryptographically secured PDF format.

The Two Official Download Methods

  4. Once the status card displays “Approved / Delivered”, click the green Download Certificate button.
  5. The official PDF will download instantly to your device.

Add Your Certificate to DigiLocker (Official Indian Standard)

Did you know you can permanently link your Sewa Setu Caste Certificate to DigiLocker? Under Rule 9A of the Information Technology Rules, documents in DigiLocker are legally treated at par with original physical certificates by all central and state recruiting agencies.

  1. Open the DigiLocker App on Android/iOS or visit digilocker.gov.in.
  2. Search for “Sewa Setu Assam” in State Government Issuers.
  3. Select “Caste Certificate”.
  4. Enter your RTPS Application Reference Number and date of birth.
  5. Click “Get Document”. Your certificate will be permanently fetched and marked with a verified green DigiLocker badge.

How to Validate the Digital Signature in Adobe Acrobat Reader

When you open your downloaded certificate on a computer, you might see a yellow question mark saying “Validity Unknown” over the officer's digital stamp. This is completely normal and simply means your Adobe Reader has not cached the Government of India Root Certificate Authority:

1.Open the certificate PDF in official Adobe Acrobat Reader (not Google Chrome or Edge browser).
2.Click on the signature block or open the Signature Panel on the top right.
3.Click “Signature Properties” → “Show Signer's Certificate”.
4.Go to the “Trust” tab, click “Add to Trusted Certificates”, check “Use this certificate as a trusted root”, and click OK.
5.Click “Validate Signature”. The yellow question mark will turn into a green checkmark reading “Signature Valid”.

Frequently Asked Questions: Assam Certificate Download

No. Under Section 5 of the Information Technology Act 2000, e-certificates issued with valid digital cryptographic signatures and QR codes are legally equivalent to physical certificates. No physical stamp or ink signature is required.
