Under Department of Personnel Memo No. 1754 and the Jharkhand High Court judgment in Chanchala Kumari vs. State of Jharkhand:
- A woman's caste is determined solely by her birth lineage, not by marriage.
- Her caste certificate must strictly be issued based on her father's name and paternal ancestral address (पिता के नाम एवं मायके के पते से).
- Applying using husband's name or matrimonial address leads to immediate disqualification during JPSC and JSSC document verification.
